Hi Horst,
I'm not a software genius either, but I managed to follow the steps
mentioned here (Android 2.3.7, not 2.3.3 by the way)

And when vocabulary issued appeared, I found this very helpful

Following these steps would be my advice (I've a working IOIO setup)
