Hi Andy, Maybe I'm not reading your message right but if you have relationships in ejb-jar.xml, you really can't avoid them in jbosscmp-jdbc.xml (So far as I know, anyway). You mention you have the relationships defined in ejb-jar.xml but that'll only take you so far. You'll have to define somewhere how JBoss will figure out those relationships (key-fields, column-names, etc.) which is in the <relationships> section of jbosscmp-jdbc.xml.
Is there a reason why you don't want to use @jboss.relation tags?
