I have tried a few more changes but still no luck. I am now using the
macrodef task which reduced the build file size considerably and also
speeded it up by about 10 secounds.

But did you check the package alignment question I asked? What is ${src.dir} set to?

Is "com" a subdirectory of ${src.dir}? Are the source files in directories that match their package names?
