Unfortunately, my reason for wanting to see this is because of a need for packaging simplifications in other projects. The goal being that Xerces-c unpack become a non-issue, and not require special steps for users that want to unpack, configure, build, install. Since it is required in both Linux and win32, both the install prefix bug and the directory structure need to be updated before this can happen. Knowing it will eventually be fixed is a great aid, but the best way to deal with it also depends on timing. I am curious how much IBM is involved in this? I known they've done a lot with java, JFS, and a few other things to use linux with e-commerce, but I hadn't heard anything about involvement directly with Apache or Xerces-c. (just curious) D.
