Why is this a bug?  This is the way the C++ language works.  You can either 
come up with your own macros and modify them when you upgrade your version of 
Xerces-C, hard-code the Xerces-C namespace as you mentioned, or wrap the Xerces-
C classes with another layer of your own classes, hiding the Xerces-C namespace 
completely.
