Because you cannot build a debug version of your application without debug library (on Windows). So the debugger won't work with your application. > No functionality is lost. The "get an begin"-functionality is lost. >From now on, if you are using windows, you have to build your own xerces-lib right before you can develop your own application. Not really cool. You can remove the release build either, since it is easy to build the release lib once you have set up your DIE to build xerces. Regards Matthias
