Please update to the current XFree86 CVS release before reporting bugs against CVS. Lots of development occurs every day in CVS, and there have been a couple hundred bugs fixed since 4.2.99.2 was tagged. Daniel Stone has debian packages of much newer CVS XFree86 available.
