So I suggest trying one of the following:
1) use 1280x1024 mode: it's quite standard, and most likely the monitor has been factory tested for it
2) copy over the timings from your former systemI'll need to rescusitate a corpse for that.
3) (wild) search for a source of electromagnetic interference and moveThe squiggle persists. Can't pin this one down. And ... Why would this NOT occur to the same monitor when running W2K, shared by a KVM?
away from it (can be your UPS or speakers, etc. E.g. the floppy
drive in my box, standing half a meter away from the monitor,
clearly interferes with it when used).
