They've released some new drivers(2.9.6) but they're not able to update their page, the only updated page is for firegl(but they're compatible with 8500, 9100, 9200, 9500, 9600, 9700, 9800, M9 and FireGL 8700, 8800, E1, X1, Z1) In the release notes they talk about Xfree 4.3 but they do not provide any file for the moment. Their sucky drivers are available at http://www.ati.com/support/drivers/firegl/linux/linuxfireglx1z18x00x420296.html > I think this situation is not acceptable and I think I will set up a > webpage with a petition to ati forcing them to either properly support > their linux-drivers and provide updates or (even better) provide specs > so open source-drivers can be made. > What do you think about this? > A petition will be, as always unuseful, companies don't mind about people who are crying to have free drivers or specs. If at least they were providing good drivers, I won't complain(too much) but here, in most forum I've visited, people with a well installed drivers are very very rare.
