Some of this work was already started with the dbXML-AppServices package, but that code is now very outdated. If you're still interested in looking at it, it is still available via the dbxml.com CVS repository.

Recently, I've been developing a web services hub called Labrador that could plug into Xindice in order to provide access to the server via XML-RPC or SOAP in a transparent fashion. The XML-RPC server of Labrador is essentially complete, but the SOAP stuff has barely been started, so you're welcome to help out with it.

I've already done some experimentation to make Xindice APIs available using Labrador, you can find a tarball of this science project at:

This code *IS NOT* production quality, and is not even part of our CVS tree yet. It's just an experiment to see how easily Labrador would fit into the Xindice architecture.
