Contact Michi, but I've not heard about any progress yet.
Michi and I are already talking about this. He noted the above
thread, but said that no one had the time to move on it.
Gregor Rothfuss suggested talking about things again here to see
who is interested in order to move this forward.
I am willing to put forward the effort to faciliate.

We recently had the problem that Cocoon and Lenya are including different
versions of xmldb-commons/xupdate, which led to a conflict, so there is
certainly a need for action, at least on the Lenya side.
I just don't find the time right now, but I will help you as good as I can.
