Well, it could be worse, you could be using a Trident 8900A. I know some will argue that I'm risking KEEPING you out of date on this one, and I know you're using BSD, but I am VERY pleased with the performance of Voodoo cards in Linux. I openly admit they're not the best cards on earth, but when it comes to a decent looking game at a playable framerate, and at this point very inexpensive, I'll recommend any Voodoo. I have a voodoo1, a few voodoo2s, and a voodoo5, all of which were a breeze to get working, and still provide acceptable gameplay on all my machines. If you'd like something that has good XFree86 acceleration and, AFAIK, very little headache, a good new Matrox works well. I have a G400 that is doing a great job with everything and anything non-3D. I haven't gotten around to messing with 3D on the card just because my Voodoo2 is still cranking it out.
