Did you uncomment

X86_ASM_68000 = 1
X11_MITSHM = 1

?

I ask because linux has (ever since I added a few optimizations) compiling
the xmame for my processor it has been very fast. On my 450 PII w/384 ram I
can run over 95% of the mame games at full speed.

Well, I did some compiles last night for DGA and xv, but although it runs a
tad faster, it's not as fast as I'd expected it to be. I've also closed KDE3

down (a real resource slurper if ever I saw one) to see if that helped, but
it had little influence. I'll try some other compile options in the makefile

to see if I can find the problem, and perhaps post a framespeed comparison
between the different options.
