Both xmame.xgl and xmame.x11/xv, when run in full-screen mode, will lock up at the "Press OK" screen if I use the -rr parameter, but only with some games. For example, mspacman locks up but pacman is fine. Oddly enough, -rl seems to work ok with mspacman. When I say "lock up" I mean that it won't respond to any key input, including ESC. However, it will allow me to ctrl-alt-f1 to a terminal and killall xmame.x11. After killing it, I can see that my key input was indeed acepted, as shown here.
