Consider the SAIC ANX service for a Internet-based capability positioned to
compete with VAN and traditional EDI. http://www.saic.com.

Subject: Transportation Standards

Hi all.

I have a question about transporting an XML message. Please forgive me if I
appear to be slightly naive on this subject.

Anyway, If I want to eradicate the use of a VAN (say GE) for example, what
are
the requirements that I need to get my message from one application in
Manchester to another application in London for example.

I know the Internet will be used extensively in this, but how? & in what
way?.Do
we required a specific ISP?, do we automatically us MIME?.
I need a "BIG picture" on this.

I have looked at what ebXML are doing regarding this matter but it doesn't
explain how?.

Hope someone can clear this matter up for me.
cheers

Paul
