I agree completely. I bet the Client will be "very pleased" if someone
from
the list fixes their EDI problems, which is the point. Many people from
this list have helped me/my clients...

Jason,

We need to be able to balance here. It has been brought to my
attention that Julie Ballantine, of JBI Consulting has a history of
using technical lists like this as a means to solicit and recruit
people.

What I'm talking about here is sending you unsolicited email off
the list about situations vacant. Frankly I get enough email
daily without this kind of attention too.

This list is clearly NOT meant to be a resource for people looking
to hire people.

What I do find as acceptable however is that there should be a
resource board for 'services provided' associated with the web site.

We do want to be able to help people and get them advice and
services. I do not mind Julie even having a link there describing
the services she can offer where people can contact her
directly. People looking for assistance, and people able to offer
assistance can similarly place links there.

We are looking into how we can best set that up.

The main list should be reserved for technical and business
dialogues relating to XML for eBusiness and its implementation
and use. Education services, conferences and new resource
sites are also something we want to announce.

Members are very sensitive the off-topic email cluttering up
their mail boxes and rightly so. Time is very precious.

I appreciate everyone's consideration to the other users on
this list.

Thanks, DW.
