There is no inconsistency here. I do see you pointing out several places
where I said XML rather than XML/EDI where I mean XML/EDI. In this example
you give, I thought it was clear from the context I meant XML/EDI because I
clearly say "where we consider using XML format for our EDI needs". I
realize in the next sentence I just say XML where I mean XML/EDI (in other
words "using XML for formating business transactions for exchange between
companies"). I certainly apologize for any appearance of
inconsistency, There certainly is no inconsistency in what I intended from
my earlier to my more recent comments.

I think this actually supports how consistent I have been in not slamming
all XML then just as I am not doing so today. Prior to about Aug/Sept of
2000 you may find inconsistency in some statements because I had different
views that were still evolving in this regard. In May of 2000 when I
started my project I was totally fired up and on the XML/EDI bandwagon.

Ken, please don't make the error of generality in supposing that I express
the views of all of Cisco Systems. I only express the views of Steve
Bollinger. I speak for no one but myself and these are NOT the views of
Cisco Systems official or otherwise. Cisco like any other place is a
company of individuals, groups and sub-groups all having their own ideas
and opinions.

Thanks for your comments,
Steve
