Using XXE V2.11, I was able to open the document you sent me, and it just took a few seconds. The problem almost certainly comes from the many *images* included in the document. You didn't send me these images; that's why I was not able to reproduce your problem. A possible diagnostic is an "out of memory" error. See http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/user_faq.html#outofmemory for a simple workaround. XXE V2.5 displays the images as thumbnails, that's why this version consumes less memory. If you send me these images, or better, tell me where I can download them, I will be able to give you a very precise diagnostic.
