That's true. We intend to improve the usability of the tree view over 
the time by suppressing annoying behaviors like the one you have described.

In fact,

* We find the tree view to be very good when used alone (for example, 
when you have no CSS style sheet for the document being edited).

* We find the tree view to be *unusable* when used as a command pad for 
the styled view. But may be, with little efforts, we could make it 
usable to please XXE users like you.
