Both questions have already been answered in this mailing list.

[1] XXE 2.5p3 has a bug 2.5p2 didn't have. It is fixed in 2.5p4. See 
http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/changes.html

[2] There is no "Reload " menu item because there are other ways to do that:

* Use file menu to reload the most recently opened file (Shortcut: type 
Alt-F and then type 1)

* OR drag the little icon, shaped like a bookmark, found in the node 
path bar, to the document view.

In your case, use these commands after saving your document.
