Because many times we always do the same thing, it should be interesting to keep, by default, the selection of the left pane to remain the same between different interactions.
Example, I have keyboarded my document as fast as possible and now I want to put all the needed inline emphasis. For being able to do that, I prefer the following mode : 1 - select text 2 - select emphasis ... to the actual one : 1 - select text 2 - select the surround pane 3 - select emphasis There are a lot of cases where we do the same after a while (keyboarding or select things) therefore, it should be better to keep selected pane and selection in the pane between different needs.
