I'll add your request to the wish list ( 
http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/wish_list.html ) but at least for the 
example you give, there is already shortcut Ctrl+A (_A_ like _A_gain) 
which will repeat last (repeatable) command.

Try it, you'll like it.
