Hi, when crossing element boudaries by hitting Cursor right/left it would be very intuitive to change the shape of the insertion mark at the end of the text element into a "]" and at the beginning of the following text element into a "[". Inside a text element the shape should be the common "|".
The new insertion mark shapes should be visually distinguishable from a normal character, e.g. they could be bigger and blinking. Even better is to use the small vertical bar only at the top of the horizontal bar.
