I really mean the *insertion mark* (red/black vertical bar (or maybe other shape?) which blinks when the document view has the keyboard focus). When the insertion mark itself already tells me which side of the boarder I am, I don't need to look to the "Node Path Bar" at the top of XXE window. While the modified mouse cursor helps me to aiming, the insertion mark shows me whether I hit my target.
This little change would also avoid the "dead-key" experience (words from the tutorial) when using the cursor keys to cross text node boundaries. Maybe it's only a "nice to have" feature. On the other hand I guess it shouldn't be too hard to do.
