Thanks for your response. As it turns out, the problem is not that it  
is pasting as content, but that it is not including the blue  
background. So it merely *looks* as if it is an editable part of the  
rest of the file, without actually being editable. I would be happy  
to send screenshot-videos if you are having trouble following the  
steps I provided, so that you can see the effect for yourself. I have  
reproduced this problem on Mac OS 10.4.9 and Windows XP (under  
Parallels), but always within the same instance of the program (that  
is, not copying from 3.5.1 into 3.6.0).
