We have started implementing such add-on several months ago and faced two problems: * TEI is huge. Even TEI Lite is huge! * The XSL style sheets for TEI (by Sebastian Rahtz) seem to be designed to produce a good output only with PassiveTeX, not with the other XSL-FO processors: Apache FOP, RenderX XEP, XMLmind XSL-FO Converter, etc. The second problem was the show-stopper. Therefore, we probably won't try again any time soon. We prefer to concentrate on XHTML, DocBook and DITA. > What is involved in producing such a utility? Weeks of hard work to make TEI on par with XHTML, DocBook and DITA, (which is the minimum we can do). See: * "XMLmind XML Editor - Configuration and Deployment" http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/_distrib/doc/configure/index.html * "XMLmind XML Editor - Commands" http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/_distrib/doc/commands/index.html * "XMLmind XML Editor - Support of Cascading Style Sheets (W3C CSS)" http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/_distrib/doc/csssupport/index.html > It would be of potentially great interest to many TEI users, I think All the other ``major'' XML editors I know claim to support TEI. Therefore, it's not like being in the desert with your notepad.
