I understand that combining these error cases was attractive as a minimal change, but it seems a little sloppy. Would it be hard to make the error message distinguish between unknown and disabled options?
Yes, it'll be a pretty big change in the xmlsec tool and to be honest with you I am not
sure it's worth the trouble.
