Thanks for the quick response all.

Andreas -- it does not matter if I rotate and start Xournal, or start
and rotate. Still the same bug.

Here is my homework assignment:

OK. After a reboot (and now on the 2.6.38 kernel), I seem to reproduce
it consistently on rotated displays, at all zoom levels.

Debian (testing)

    libgnomecanvas2-0 2.30.1-1
    xournal 0.4.5-3

I usually use my own patched version of Xournal (patched so that it
emergency saves if it crashes). However the bug is consistently
reproducible on the CVS version too.

I don't think so: I did

    atp-get source libgnomecanvas2

and the only thing in debian/patches are

    01_canvasassert.patch
    99_ltmain_as-needed.patch

Yikes. If I go back to 2.20, I hope it will not break everything else.
I'll try and see if I can do this soon.

Thanks for the quick responses!

has processed my application yet. So please CC me for now.
