Greetings all,

There appears to be a small but consistent thread of reports of i810
problems (typically server lockup/crash) which go away when acceleration
is disabled. See:

As a relative weenie, are there any ways I can contribute to debugging
such problem(s)?

In particular:

1) when it locks up for me I can only recover things with a cold boot.
is there any useful information that might be extracted from my system
between after X has crashed and before the lockup has been cleared by a
cold boot?

2) the list of "XAA hooks" in
http://www.xfree86.org/pipermail/xpert/2001-July/010072.html - can one
selectively disable accelerations?

FWIW, even on the Enlightenment/Gnome desktop menus, these accelerations
do appear to make a difference - it'd be nice to get them back.

Thanks,
Neale.
