I'd also be interested in such a feature, but reality is that Mark
is the only "Xinerama-aware" person, and he doesn't seem to be interested.
(Mark, are you reading this? Please correct me if I'm wrong.)
When writing initial Xinerama support in fvwm2, I was thinking
about simulating this feature in the WM (it will be useful even if all
screens are xineramified, but one is a clone/zoom of another). This
doesn't look hard to do -- at least fvwm2's libs/FScreen.c architecture
will easily accept something like "XineramaLastScreen N", which will tell
the WM that it shouldn't take screens after N into account. Currently I
have no time for this (maybe in december), but you can try asking for it
