My X has some problems with my new monitor.

Once upon the time, I had my computer having an NEC monitor with Linux and windows. Things were fine.

One day, the monitor died. I went to buy a second-hand monitor. Comparing with the NEC monitor, it was not as good, but it could function.

It worked fine with windows, but in linux when I type "startx" or "xinit", the screen went crazy. I typed "Ctrl-Alt-Backspace" to get out.

How can I solve this problem? And why does this problem occur? I tried to lower the vertical and horizontal refresh rate in XF86Config, but it didn't help. I wonder the reason of the problem is that Linux doesn't support my monitor (my monitor's brandname is "ICL ErgoPro").

Thx
