Well, I was just about to reply "get an older ATI card or similar card by
different manufacturer" but went to check up on ATI site first.
Turns out that only Radeon 7500, Radeon 8500 and All-in-Wonder 8500DV
support 1920x1440@85hz or higher. All other ATI cards can only do this at
75hz.
Also, even if you are willing to go for a smaller resolution, I would
still recommend getting a Radeon - it has a better overlay scaler (the
thing that does YUV->RGB conversion and scaling for MPEG/AVI/movie
playback) than Rage128 so you can play stuff with sizes larger than
DVD. (I am talking about the resolution it was encoded at, not the size of
the displayed image).
Also if you are not buying a retail box check the supported resolutions
again - I heard some OEM versions can have smaller clock RAMDACs (or was
it 3d chip clock ? I don't remember).
