Bingo, that is your CVS checkout is probably from before it was disabled. About getting it working, I'm afraid it's not just a simple thing to fix. The 8500 has a different 3D pipeline than the older Radeons, without documentation about it and some 3D driver experience you're gonna have a hard time.
