Hi,
I'm having trouble with X 4.2.0 and dri with a Rage 128 Card.
I used to be with X 4.1.0, and dri ( 2.1.6 ) worked quite well ( The only
problem I had was *some* random crash when using XV [ for example playing
a movie with mplayer ] ).
To solve this, I wanted to try X 4.2.0 'cause I thought it might be
corrected.
So here come the problems... :)
I managed to use the latest drm drivers ( those in the X source, 2.2.0 ),
compilation went fine. When I launch X, dri is enabled ( r128.o is loaded
) but when I try to use XV ( mplayer or anything else ), image is not well
drawed ( picture is not centered or sometimes it's 'snowy' ) and it
freezes, so i have to reboot.
This problem occurs only with X 4.2.0 AND dri enabled. Everything is fine
when it's X 4.2.0 without dri OR X 4.1.0 AND dri ( the same i use with X
4.2.0 )
Any idea ?
My config :
Athlon Tbird
512 Mo RAM
2.4.17 ( or 2.4.10 / 2.4.13 )
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Rage 128 RF

P.S : It doesn't change anything if i use binaries / source of X, nor with
the ati's drivers of GATOS.
