*** I sincerely hope not, but one never knows.. :-)

In any case, in the meantime I tried to get the X working (actually I was
almost finished when your first response came) and in the midst of
upgrading XFree86 RPMs from rawhide... This actually worked and I've got a
usable X at present...

Unfortunately this procedure is almost as bad as DLL-hell from M$ and in
the process I had to upgrade half of the system, gcc included. Now I've
got gcc 3.1 and can't get a useful kernel (haven't tried yet 2.4.18, but
.16 and .17 certainly do NOT produce a usable kernel - even when using
arch/i386/defconfig)... I think I'll just re-install 7.2 and use your
suggested method.. :-)

Therefore, I am not yet at the stage when anything else apart from X is
working, but I do want to try to start sound, WiFi, USB (actually that
*is* working), FireWire, etc... :-) I'll let you know how I get on... If
you had any luck with any of these, feel free to offer hints. ;-)

*** Sorry, but I am not familiar with bouncekeys. Any hints (man pages are
OK :-) appreciated on this subject (I actually run 4.2 now)....

*** Much appreciated.

Kind regards,
