*** No. As I explained previously, stock RH72 XFree rpms do NOT include the correct driver for Tecra 9000. However, you should have received a copy of a message from Mike Harris where he said he'll make the XFree 4.2 rpms (that do not have the gcc 3.1 dependency) available on his ftp/web server next week... These rpms should include the correct driver (look up older messages of this thread)... Therefore, the "correct" procedure should be: 1. install stock RH72 2. install RH72 errata 3. install Mike Harris' XFree 4.2 RPMs I am about to embark on the step #1 of the above procedure. If you want, I can keep you posted. BTW, I am aware of ONE problem witn RH72 installation but that has nothing to do with XFree: - there is a "conflict of opinion" about the Tecra's disk geometry between RH's disk partitioning and/or installation routine and Partition Magic v7. I tend to trust the latter as it enables me to dynamically (and w/o backup/restore) resize the ext2 partitions. .. In any case, that issue is only relevant if you are a freak and run 5 different OSs on your laptop, *AND* PM7 is able to clear up the mess (left behind by RH install routine ;) so it's not deadly... Hope this helps, --Nino _______________________________________________ Xpert mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xpert
