I've not heard of a problem before. Xinerama may exacerbate
existing problems in the font server though. I've always been
suspicious of the font server and never use one. Typically
font server problems are fatal to the server though, so apps
hanging don't sound like the historic problems with xfs.
These apps aren't using the render extension are they? (AA fonts).
