No kidding.  I finally went out and bought an 8500 to get video working on 
that.  Between Kevin and myself, we were able to test pretty much every 
Radeon.

Sounds like Radeon DRI support is rapidly stablizing.  I'd like to get the
XFree86 tree working again at some point, but it's diverged quite a ways
from the DRI at this point with a bunch of multi-head patches from ATI.

XFree86 will be doing a release sometime this year; if the DRI bits are 
going to be stable in the next couple of months, it would be nice to get 
them integrated so they could have wider testing for a while before the 
XFree86 release.
