Hi there.
I'm running Xfree86-4.2.0 on FreeBSD-4.7-STABLE.
My monitor is Sun GDM-20E20. I had ATi RagePro in this box, today I
plugged in a Matrox G450 F.
The picture is much worse than what I could get from the ATi card.
Bright text on dark background is quite fine, but dark text on bright
background looks like a jpeg screenshot. I don't know a better
description. The worst case of this is Mozilla. The tabs descriptions,
for example, are hardly readable. What's worse, it really hurts (sore
eyes, headache).
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Sun"
HorizSync 30.0 - 82.0
VertRefresh 48-160
Option "composite_sync" "off"
DisplaySize 389 293
EndSection
Section "Device"
Identifier "Matrox Millennium G450"
Driver "mga"
VideoRam 32768
EndSection
I tried both 16, and 24 bit color depths.
I don't really know what info I should be providing here to keep it
within the enough-but-not-too-much range. What should I be looking for?
