Being a leftie, my mother had no patience with me. My grandmother tried to teach me to crochet - disaster. Then we started embroidery -- much better. I didn't start xstitch until I decided to sell for Creative Circle and that was the one thing I didn't know how to do. My rep showed me how to stitch in about 5 minutes. I immediately went out and bought a pattern book and Aida (already had 15 tins of grandma's embroidery floss <g>) and I started and finished a huge picture of a unicorn and little racoon and other forest animals. My boyfriend (now DH) asked if he could have the picuture and could it be his no matter what happened to us (now you know why he's DH <g>). Now I have two 6 drawer filing cabinets filled with patterns, a 6 drawer desk stuffed with fabric and enough floss to stock a store.
