Wow, all these great stories, and I don't remember how I got started - guess
I just don't remember ever *not* stitching!  I'm pretty sure that my
maternal grandma taught me to do embroidery since she also taught me how to
knit and crochet.  I kept asking her to teach me to tat but she always said
that she forgot - did get a couple of shuttles from her and taught myself
the basics, but a friend told me that I do it "retarded", so never kept up
with it.

I remember being in Jr. High sewing class.  Everyone had to demonstrate some
skill.  When the girl who was doing embroidery got to the french knot she
couldn't make it come out right, so I showed them how to do it.  Now that
I'm working part time in LNS I've started teaching people to stitch for real
:)
