Hi,

One of the issues that I don't think has been addressed in all of this
(interesting) discussion of delimiters is that of hierarchy.

Implicit in xTalk's (well, at least Hyper- & Super- Talk's) definition of
words is that they are subordinate to items, which, in turn, are
subordinate to lines. At least that's my understanding - I haven't done
any testing of this to be sure. But word 4 of

"this is a test,to show delimiter behavior"

is (untested)

    "test"

, not

    "test,to"

I know, I should run the test, but I'm late for work...

Anyway, the point is that words are delimited by the itemDelimiter and the
lineDelimiter as well as the wordDelimiter. As we go about defining new
ways of delimiting text, we should keep this in mind. Sorry, I have no
specific suggestions at present.
