I'd like to understand what happens exactly. These problems will
happen in other projects.
My understand is that:
Phase 1. Stefan set tab-width less than 8.
Phase 2. He did untabify.
Phase 3. He committed the changes the tree.
Phase 4. The other developers did star-merge.
Is this right?
In my understand, The other developers' setting of
tab-width is nothing to do with this issue.
Actually Stefan wrote in the other mail:

As Stefan wrote, now we are free from the issue.
However, I would like to know/understand what happes during Phase [1-3].
Where does the strange indentation comes from?
