Xarchiver has its issues, but if it's really so bad, then why do most
Xfce-based distros package it by default? Even Zenwalk, which has a
rather high standard when it comes to packaging apps by default,
packages Xarchiver by default.
So I take it you use xarchiver and are satisfied with it?

I use Xarchiver and I'm willing to help development by submitting bug
reports/requests/crashes to either bugzilla, or directly through mail.
I don't know when exactly it will be stable + feature rich, but I have
faith it it!
