I have installed xubuntu 24.04 with no problems on my desktop computer. But when I tried to install it on my laptop, the installer crashed every time. I have tried 2 different USB drives, and different USB sockets on the laptop. On each attempt the crash happens at a different stage, and when I try starting the installer from the command line, the error messages are different. I have never had this problem when installing any other OS or version.
So instead I installed 22.04, which caused no problems at all. The idea was then to upgrade that to 24.04. https://wiki.xubuntu.org/releases/24.04/upgrading suggests that this should be possible. If I change the settings in "Software and Updates" to allow all releases it says I can upgrade to 23.10. But if I ask only for LTS releases, it says there is nothing available. So - can 22.04 be upgraded to 24.04, or can't it?
