Well, I'm not an expert in opensolaris or glib, but I was able to get this to build on opensolaris b98.
I installed the following packages... SUNWxwinc SUNWxorg-headers SUNWgnome-common-devel (this is where pkg-config lives) ... configured ... ./configure --with-gtk --prefix=/export/home/myusername after that, the standard make ; make install worked fine.
