Let us start from scratch. 1. cd /usr/X11/bin 2. ./xorgconfig Go through the process which will require you to manually feed it the information we've discussed. It'll ask you about your video driver, keyboard, screen resolution, sync rates, colors, and the whole setup. Some people consider this the 'old way' but it'll generate a xorg.conf file based on your selections.
