I stated this badly. I should have said: and appears to be the same as the OpenSolaris driver > Running /usr/bin/nvidia-SunOS-bug-report.sh is the > best way to gather info. > If you privately send me the file it creates, I can > translate the failure. Is this in OpenSolaris or U5? I'm currently reinstalling U5 onto a USB hard drive as I don't want to wipe out a system that appears to work well. I'd prefer to run U5 on the laptop since my Ultra 20 is on U5. But OpenSolaris is at least as good as any Linux distro I've run, so I can live w/ it if needed. I've got other systems to play w/ the evolution of Solaris 11 on if I can get the laptop to work w/ U5. There's a bit of oddness in all this that may or may not be relevant. If I'm in text mode, there's a lot of problem w/ keys repeating that I don't normally see on other systems or w/ OpenSolaris. Thanks, Reg FWIW I rather agree w/ Sean's comment about debugging scripts in /usr/bin. It's already so crowded it's hard to see what's there. From my perspective, a package that installs into /opt would be preferable, especially if it also contained lots of dtrace examples. I'm thinking of a general hardware debugging package, not just graphics.
