U5 where it fails. My understanding is OpenSolaris 2008.05 is OK.

I agree in principle, but the equivalent debug collection script in
the other UNIXes resides in /usr. Also, the current packaging rules
frown on delivering binaries into two separate partitions. Having
a single package deliver binaries to /usr and /opt could be a problem.
