Yes, I think you have twice, back in early August.
I also read about that in the XF86-Porting Kit's Release Notes and 
xf86Init.c

My idealistic goal is to make unchanged binary Xsun ddx modules work, 
therefore I prefer putting conversion methods in place (the question is 
_where_ to put them: wrapper ddx module or xf86Init.c or into Xorg's 
*_drv.so loader).
If we get stuck, we can still re-consider.
